Basic Network Architecture
O: Organizational Drive
The O: drive contains folders for each department and special needs. User security restricts access based on job duties. If you need access to folders where you have been denied, contact your supervisor.
T: Departmental Drive (subset of O:)
The departmental T: drive is a shortcut to a folder on the O: drive. As an example, the IT Department T: drive comes from O:\it.
U: Personal drive (only the user and IT have access)
The U: Drive is for any personal or working documents. Documents scanned on a copier get sent to a user's U: Drive (U:\scanned). Only the user and IT have access to U: Drives.
Additional Info
We do not back up local PC C: drives, so important files should not be stored on your local PC.
Non-sensitive data interchange between departments occurs in the O:\exchange folder. All users have read/write access, so this location should never be used for long term storage or sensitive information. When O:\exchange gets too full, files are automatically deleted to free up space.
